The goal is to accelerate method development to implement Captain’s qDBS sampling for clinical diagnostics in the US and worldwide
STOCKHOLM, October 5, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Swedish medical technology tarnishing captain announced today that the company has entered into a collaboration agreement with Timothy J. Garrett Laboratory, College of Medicine, University of Florida. DR Tim Garrett is one of the leading experts and an authority in the USA when it comes to the application of mass spectrometry in the field of mass spectrometry metabolomics and its clinical applications with a vast network of collaborative partners, including clinics UF and external.
The aim of the new collaboration is to accelerate method development and pave the way for a broader use of qDBS technology in clinical diagnostics. Capitainer has demonstrated that it has a superior self-sampling product with excellent ease of use and volumetric accuracy and precision. However, there is a lack of clinical laboratories and methods for home-collected microsamples, and the collaboration will accelerate the development of the necessary laboratory tools.
“I look forward to developing precision diagnostics that will enable the healthcare of the future and look forward to this collaborative effort,” said Dr. Timothy Garrett, Associate Professor in the University’s Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine. “Our success would mean a changed landscape for medical diagnostics.”
DR Donald H Chace, Capitainer’s North American representative, will also bring his extensive experience in dried bloodstain analysis, covering neonatology, clinical chemistry, newborn screening, mass spectrometry and forensics. This, coupled with Garrett’s access to a network of collaborative clinics, says Capitainer, will provide the ideal foundation for the development and validation of new testing methods.
“I’ve known Tim for ten years. Now we can jointly develop new clinical analyzes in the fields of screening, diagnostics and metabolomics research, starting with…
