
Russian President Wladimir Putin holds an official signing ceremony in the Kremlin Palace today to annex four more areas Ukraine after announce victory in self-proclaimed referendums.
What happened: Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Putin will preside over a treaty signing on “the entry of new territories into the Russian Federation,” according to Reuters reported.
“Tomorrow at 15:00 (12:00 GMT) a signing ceremony on the incorporation of the new territories into Russia will be held in St. George’s Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace,” Peskov told the BBC on Thursday reported.
After the ceremony the two chambers of the Russian Parliament will formally ratify the annexation treaties next week.
This comes after Putin said in his first public confession on Thursday that things had not gone smoothly.
“Many questions arise in the course of this mobilization and all mistakes must be corrected and prevented in the future,” he said.
Meanwhile, the annexation ceremony was denounced by Ukraine, who called it a “Kremlin freak show.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said the Kremlin’s “pseudo-referendums” were worthless. “Ukraine’s territorial integrity will be restored. And our reaction to Russia’s recognition of the results will be very harsh,” he said.
if Moscow Proceeding with the annexation would have “no legal value and deserve to be condemned,” according to the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said.
