
A man trying to grab the flag draped over it queen elizabeth‘s coffin, when she lay in state in Westminster Hall, didn’t believe she was dead, Westminster Magistrates Court heard that BBC reported.
What happened: Muhammad Khan was caught by the London police While he tried to look inside the coffin to “make sure” himself, the Queen was there, prosecutors said.
Khan, 28, was assessed by doctors who said he was unfit to attend the court hearing where he was charged with two offences Public Order Law.
According to the judge: “He’s still delusional and thinks the Queen isn’t dead, thinks King Charles has something to do with it and possibly going to Windsor Castle to pay his respects but also because he still believes she is alive.
The prosecutor Luke Staton said officers arrested Khan after seeing him approach the coffin and then “hold with both hands the Royal Standard flag draped over the coffin”.
“The defendant has raised the idea that the queen is not dead and that he approached the coffin because he wanted to check it himself,” Staton said.
Khan wanted to “speak to the Queen” for which “he planned to write to the royal family and if they didn’t reply he planned to go there.” Windsor Castle, Buckingham Palaceand balmoral‘ remarked Staton.
Meanwhile, Khan told the court that if he didn’t succeed, “he must enter the house to try to make contact,” adding that he would do so his entire life. “As long as I live.”
