AHF will run a full-page, full-color newspaper advertisement in the Chronicle on Sunday, October 30, targeting Bay Area drugmaker Gilead and its CEO, Daniel O’Day
On Sunday October 30th AIDS Health Foundation (AHF), will run a full-page, full-color advocacy ad targeting the Bay Area drugmaker’s pricing and policies, Gilead Sciences, Inc. The ad, which will appear in the San Francisco Chronicle, has a simple headline “Greed,” However, the word “greed” is scratched out with three red letters superimposed over the Gilead logo to form the word.

AHF’s ad consists of a long and growing list of Gilead’s greedy actions over the years on its HIV/AIDS and hepatitis C drugs that have added tens of billions of dollars to the company’s bottom line, largely at expense of patients and community providers care and mentor them. Points noted in the ad:

Gilead is being sued by thousands of HIV patients for knowingly selling a substandard drug until its patent expired out.
Gilead has replaced the inferior drug with Biktarvy and has now cut its patient assistance program.
