
Late apple inc AAPL co-founder Steve Jobs‘ Widow Lauren Powellalong with Apple CEO Tim cookand former design chief Jony Ive recalled Jobs’ legacy on Wednesday Code Conference in Los Angeles, hours after the US tech giant unveiled its latest iPhone.
What happened: Powell recalled the young Jobs’ brief affair with India in 1974, before he co-founded Apple.
After dropping out of college more than four decades ago, Jobs came to India to find enlightenment and study Zen Buddhism. “That was a spiritual exploration he had,” Powell said.

Reports suggest that Eastern philosophies mystified Jobs and he was in search of higher education to solve the unanswered questions of science; Then he decided to visit the country.
“He had a very subtle notion that not only is all of our time short…but also how to use your time very wisely and consciously,” she added.
In New Delhi, Jobs was often seen donning Indian clothing and embracing Indian culture. Corresponding NDTVJobs was often spotted wearing a lungi on the streets of the Indian capital and roaming barefoot.
The visit to India is said to have changed Jobs as he returned to his country as a Buddhist with a shaved head.
Not only that, but Jobs is said to have been largely inspired by Indian freedom fighters Mahatma Gandhi. Gandhi was also featured in Apple’s Think Different ads in 1997, which featured some of Jobs’ personal idols.
