Crandell is now focused on IRONMAN Maine in Augusta, Maine on July 31, which would be his 98thth IRONMAN event on the way to his personal goal of 100 IRONMAN degrees.
With every mile, Crandell runs, bikes and swims farther from the life he once led but closer to the many people he has helped in Toledo, Ohio race for recoveryhis nationally recognized counseling practice dedicated to addiction recovery.
Crandell, who has overcome a 13-year drug and alcohol addiction, has his hand on the pulse of a massive American problem that needs more, and better-trained, practitioners to stem the rising tide of shattered lives. In addition to being an IRONMAN, Crandell is also a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC-S) and a Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC-CS).
Crandell’s Racing for Recovery organization provides free individual counseling, an intensive outpatient program and support group meetings for addicts, their families and the community. It is designed as an alternative to other recovery programs and focuses on promoting a lifestyle of health, fitness and sobriety.
