Nine flights to and from Spain were canceled on Friday and dozens more were delayed due to recent cabin crew strikes at low-cost airlines Ryanair and EasyJet.
The walkout over pay and working conditions comes as European schools head out for the summer.
The strikes are another headache for passengers and the aviation sector, which is struggling with staff shortages after massive layoffs during the Covid pandemic.
As of 1 p.m. (1100 GMT), eight EasyJet flights had been canceled and 21 delayed, according to the USO union that called the strike.
One Ryanair flight was canceled and 113 were delayed, he added.
EasyJet crew will go on strike for the first three weekends in July to demand a level playing field with other European airlines.
The strike by Ryanair cabin crew in Spain, which employs around 1,900 people, began on June 24 and is expected to last until Saturday. It affects 10 of the airline’s bases in Spain.
On Thursday, more than 50 Ryanair flights to and from the country were canceled due to the job campaign.
A strike by the airline’s crew between June 24 and 26 canceled 129 flights.
Flights from Paris’ two main airports, Charles de Gaulle and Orly, were suspended for the second straight day on Friday due to a strike by airport workers.
