The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has planned to construct the country’s first solar-powered metro bus station.
The project will begin in January and will be finished in three months. According to a CDA official, a thorough framework has been developed to serve people of the twin cities with cutting-edge public transportation from Peshawar Mor to the New International Islamabad Airport.
He said that 70% to 80% of the construction on the metro track was already finished. He stated that the solar-powered terminal would be finished in April of next year, following which the route from Peshawar Mor to the New International Islamabad Airport will be operational.
The solar-powered facility will produce 100 megawatts of energy. The electricity generated by these panels will be linked to the main grid station of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA). The power will then be sent from WAPDA’s grid to the bus terminals and related bus stations.
Solar panels will be put on sheds designated for bus parking at a terminal near Peshawar Mor.
