NYTimes.com – Google has released in cooperation with Apple iPhone new amazing software called “Goggle voice search software” which will be applied by Friday on apple iPhone devices only; this software will enable the user to ask the device orally any question about directions, restaurants, places, .etc, and the question delivers directly to Google servers in digital form, it took few seconds to reply.
Yahoo and Microsoft have their own similar software too; Microsoft Tellme service is good for users want to ask about maps and directions only and Yahoo one search is better but it’s not accurate in most of the time, Google software has the advantage of both for flexibility and accuracy also specify the location of user through iPhone features to give an accurate answers according to the location of the user.
Raj Reddy, an artificial intelligence researcher at Carnegie Mellon University who has done a remarkable work in voice recognition, said Google’s advantage in this field was the ability to store and analyze vast amounts of data. “Whatever they introduce now, it will greatly increase in accuracy in three or six months,” he said.
“It’s important to understand that machine recognition will never be perfect,” Mr. Reddy added. “The question is, how close they can come to human performance?” the application is free for users to use anytime and the company plans to make it available for every phone beside iPhone in the near future.
