The Suffolk County Society has appealed to the masses at large for donations to build a reward for gathering information regarding the killer/ killer(s) of the beloved goat of Kings Park arrested.
Roy Gross, the SPCA chief commented that he hopes that the money will prompt the witnesses to give detailed information about the gruesome death of the nine month old goat, Teddy. On 18 of Aug it was found brutally strangled with a belt along the road beside Kings Park after he was apparently kidnapped from one of the local farms.
Gross is already offering a reward worth $1000 and he commented that a similar fundraising in another case last year had helped to arrest a man of Brookhaven, Derick Phanord. This man was convicted for setting the pit of his bull on fire. Due to this, he received a sentence of complete two years.
Gross also added that the SPCA had collected a sum of $20000 in this case as well as retained the promise of giving a large reward. Due to the promise of a large reward, the phones actually have been ringing continuously.
According to Gross, the agency had received calls for donation in the goat case, and has so far collected about $250. He further added that the detectives of SPCA have also begun investigating the cause of disappearance of Pinky, Teddy’s brother.
The goats had been stolen from Raleigh’s poultry farm located at the road of Old Indian Head. Catherine Raleigh-Boylan, daughter of the owner of this farm, has showed optimism in this matter and hopes that somebody will come forward to solve it.
She further added that around 200 people had contacted her and expressed sympathy for the death of the goat.
