LX200, the label printer was announced by one of the prominent specialty printer manufacturing companies, Primera Technology, Inc.
This printer model comes with the latest monochrome technology with its inkjet of high-speed. As compared to the bar code printers which work on thermal transfer technology, this printer provides dots per inch at least six times more. This printer is extremely useful and can be used in a range of applications including printing of tags, tickets, coupons, labels, etc. For printing which requires high security, durability and confidentiality, this device is ideal.
Print head used in LX200 is of the inkjet variety and not ribbons as in printers which work on thermal transfer. Security aspect is low in thermal printers as they retain a record of whatever is being printed. To resolve the security and confidentiality issue, especially in government departments, it often becomes necessary to completely dispose of the ribbons. This problem does not arise in inkjet printers. This device is therefore a convenient, secure and economical printing solution.
Software called NiceLabel SE is used for creation of label, which is also a part of the LX200 package for Primera. The device also supports major bar codes which includes the linear type. Selective 2D bar codes including the PDF417 are also supported by LX200. Even a two point font is presented in a clear and concise manner.
Another interesting feature of the LX200 includes the ease of replenishing ink as compared to the traditional ribbon replacement. It is as simple as taking out the printhead and plugging in a new one.
