Exhibition of the finalists to see November 9th – 16 at the New York Academy of Art

NEW YORK, November 9, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — AXA XL has announced the winner of the fifth edition of the AXA Art Prize. Milica Zekić, a student from the School of the Art Institute of Chicagowas selected by renowned artist judges as the first prize winner Arcmanoro Niles, Nicolas party and Robin F Williams, along with AXA XL’s Global Chief Underwriting Officer (GCUO) for Fine Art & Specie, Jennifer Ship. The title of her winning piece is You and me. Second prize went to Imelda Jasmine Saenz from Savannah College of Art and Design for her artwork entitled The Intertwining.
The winners were chosen from the 40 finalists that make up the AXA Art Prize Exhibition 2022, which is currently on view in the New York Art Academy and practically at axaartprizegallery.com. The award offers participants the highest level of exposure and the perfect opportunity to showcase their work to leading curators from top museums and galleries. Among them was this year’s exhibition jury Ian Altever of Metropolitan Museum of Art, Ruth Ericson of Institute for Contemporary Art/Boston, Louise Neri from Gagosianand Stephanie Sparling Williams of Brooklyn Museum.
