
Nevada begins accepting applications for the Cannabis Consumption Lounge
Nevada officially began accepting applications for cannabis consumption lounges on Fridayand will do so until October 27th, reported marijuana moment.
Last June, the Nevada Senate approved Bill to legalize cannabis consumption lounges by a vote of 17 to 3 and sent it to the governor’s desk. about a week later, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak (D) signed laws into law. According to the new law there two new license categories for cannabis businesses – 1) “Retail Cannabis Consumption Lounges and 2) “Independent Cannabis Consumption Lounges”.
Under the rules, existing marijuana dealers can apply for a lounge license category to expand their services.
Regulators expect 40-45 applications from retailers and are not providing a forecast on how many independent lounge applications will be filed. They may issue up to 20 independent cannabis lounge licenses, half of which must be for social justice applicants.
Czech regulators are considering legalizing cannabis sales and taxing vices
The regulated cannabis market was one of the first issues discussed by the Czech cabinet on Monday. National Anti-Drug Coordinator Jindrich Voboril Presented the plan at a cabinet meeting, which also aims to tackle taxation of narcotics based on their harmfulness and increase the budget for addiction prevention and treatment, reported expats.cz.
Earlier, Vobořil told the Czech News Agency he was planning a bill that would legalize cannabis sales in the Czech Republic with strict regulations. According to him, a regulated marijuana market could rake in billions of kronor in taxes.
The new plan comes as part of strategy to deal with growing addiction problems by 2027. The strategy was drawn up by the cabinet of the then Prime Minister Andrei Babis.
