WTTC and the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance aim to build a more sustainable, net-positive, global hospitality industry
LONDON, October 13, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and the Sustainable Hospitality Alliance (the Alliance) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in which both organizations commit to closer collaboration focused on improving the environmental and social impacts of the global hospitality industry.
Through the MOU, WTTC and the Alliance have committed to fostering a unified voice for a more sustainable future for the hospitality industry and to collaborate on new research projects to advance understanding of the latest sustainability innovations.
The two organizations will also work together to raise awareness of new initiatives and success stories, create new commissions and advisory bodies, advance understanding of innovation and key sustainability indicators, and collaborate on critical issues such as youth employability, human trafficking and climate change.
Hotels and other tourist accommodation such as short term rentals (STR) are at the heart of the hospitality industry, tapping into entire local economies through nearby dining, events, cultural and music venues.
By working together, the industry can become a driving force for a more sustainable future for the industry.
