ROME, Oct. 13, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — The crux of the matter is the board’s legitimacy to proceed with such a decision.
The game is not over at ITA Airways after Wednesday’s board meeting, which decided to revoke all powers of Executive President Alfredo Altavilla. Indeed, according to government sources quoted by Corriere della Sera, everything remains frozen until the shareholders’ meeting, which will be convened in almost a month on November 8th. The crux of the matter is the legitimacy of the Governing Body to proceed with such a decision, given that the powers were delegated by the Assembly – actually the Ministry of Economy – and not the Governing Body, and the issue therefore had to be discussed in the Assembly itself. Meanwhile, the Revision Committee is already in favor convened tomorrow to discuss the matter.
