BOSTON, Oct. 12, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — GreenLight Biosciences GRNAa non-profit company that strives to provide effective and safe solutions to make food clean and affordable for all, and dedicated to developing health solutions for everyone on our planet, today announced a realignment to focus on important to focus on short-term value drivers and increase its liquidity Runway.
Key changes include the further optimization of GreenLight’s organizational structure to better support the Company’s operations and more efficiently support the research, development and commercialization of its plant health and human health pipelines, primarily through the integration of GreenLight’s platform team into their respective Human Health and Plant Health teams. These integrations are accompanied by a workforce reduction of approximately 25%.
In recent months, GreenLight’s human health team announced large-scale mRNA manufacturing with Samsung Biologics and launched vaccine development partnerships with the Vaccine Research Center of the National Institutes of Health and with the Serum Institute of India.
The plant health team has demonstrated a unique field control of fungal pathogens, such as powdery mildew, that is as effective as chemical standards. The team has also advanced work to develop RNA seed treatments in collaboration with Germain’s Seed Technology. Field trials of GreenLight’s proprietary pollinator solution to protect honey bees demonstrated Varroa destructor mite control after 12 weeks that was similar or superior to a leading chemical alternative.
