Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna has made more than 13,000 trades in the last three years.
According to Capitol Trades, the US representative from California is one of the most active traders in Congress. However, Khanna’s purchases are usually filed under his child’s name.
With many complaints about insider trading occurring in Congress, many speculate that members of Congress are using family members to hide their dealings to avoid scrutiny when it comes to legislative decisions that could affect a company or sector.

On September 29, 72 members of Congress violated the Federal STOCK Act, which was enacted to prevent insider trading. But certain lawmakers like Senator Elizabeth Waren and senator Steve Daines want to go one step further and ban congressmen and their spouses from owning or trading individual stocks.
