April 20, 2010 – The Tea Party movement in Florida gained a big victory without even casting a vote. Gov. Charlie Crist has withdrawn from the Republican Senate primary, leaving Tea Party favorite Marco Rubio as the likely GOP candidate in the general election.
Crist, who was reportedly told by Republican party leaders that he had “zero chance” of winning the GOP primary, is said to be mulling an independent run for Senate.
