Campana Pictures and Random Acts present VIRAL, a horror film premiere starring Shannon Leigh Webber (Scary Stories: Dark Web), Jessica Arden Napier (Stranger Things, Halloween Kills) and Jeff Award winner Deanna Reed Foster (Shining Girls, Widows) . Advanced screenings across Chicago begin October 4th at the Music Box Theater.
When her granddaughter goes missing, Jane (Jeff Award winner Janet Ulrich Bach) hires a small team to investigate her disappearance. As more and more creators disappear, Shannon (Shannon Leigh Webber) and her friends desperate for answers confront their own dark secrets along with a dark force.
Also included in the film are real-life creators Elliot Simmons (@ElliotSimms) and Jillian Gilman (@Zombae.Undead), with a combined fan base of nearly 10 million. VIRAL marks Jessica Arden Napier’s first on-screen appearance since her acclaimed performances in Stranger Things 4 and Halloween Kills.
writer Crystal Skillman (Marvel, Adventure Time) returns after working on Scary Stories: Dark Web, which includes a cameo appearance Tony Todd (candy man). FullTV notes that the “stellar cast of actors … keeps the audience in their seats.” Fred’s Horror Corner called it a “believable hybrid of host and VHS,” and the Chicago Reader says it sends “the good kind of spooky shivers down your spine.”
Other collaborators include Creepy Duck Design (behind posters for recent hits Scream, The Black Phone and Mandy) and Julane Sullivan with All Dressed Up Costumes. The exciting climax takes place at the haunted Campana factory, now on the National Registry of Historic Places. Further filming took place in Chicago, New York and Atlanta.
The sprawling cast includes Debbie Banos, Daria Koon, Aaron HollandMarianna Gallegos, Steffen Garcia, Daryn HarrellKelsey Jaffer, Kevin O’Connell, Rachel Rodewald, Ashlyn Seehafer, Faiz Siddique, Brian Yager and more to be announced.
