Why it matters: Recently, President Joe Biden‘s Chief Physician Dr. Anton Faucisaid that those infected in the first wave of the Omicron variant have no immunity to the current BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants, reported Wealth.
There are concerns about the portability of sub-variants BA.4 and BA.5. The two variants have a reproductive rate of almost 18.6, making them as if not more communicable than measles — the most contagious viral disease, according to Adrian EstermanProfessor at the University of South Australia, reported The Conversation, a scholarly news publication.
