Bayan’s innovative DMin program offers Muslim leaders and scholars serving communities an unprecedented opportunity to further their engagement with the Islamic intellectual tradition in a rigorous academic environment and develop skills to skillfully address important public issues by drawing on Draw on the theological, spiritual and ethical traditions of Islam and explore insights from the teachings and experiences of leaders of other faith traditions in a number of joint courses.
The DMin degree is a three-year, 30-credit advanced program focused on public service and leadership. Compulsory and elective courses are taught by the world-class faculty of Bayan and CTS. Bayan will deliver his courses in his unique hybrid instructional model, which includes intensive in-person classes on the Chicago Theological Seminary campus and online sessions during each academic semester. After two years of coursework, PhD students complete a DMin-led study project that addresses a compelling problem or need within their respective faith communities.
