As the excitement builds Apple Inc AAPL To mark the imminent launch of the iPhone 14, the company’s South Korean rival took a shot at its tech giant through an ad.
What happened: The ad begins with the narration, “Buckle your seat belt…for Apple’s latest launch as you enter a world that will turn heads.” It then goes on to pour cold water on the premise by saying: “Just not in your direction.”
The half-minute advertisement features Samsungs S22 Ultra and the foldable Z Flip 4 devices.

Why it matters: Samsung’s latest dig at the Tim cook-led companies is just a week ahead of Apple “Far Out” event scheduled for September 7th. The name of this event is causing a stir around a satellite phone, according to a previous report.
This isn’t the first time Samsung has attacked Apple through ads, but in 2019 the Korean company quietly removed an ad mocking the iPhone maker for removing the headphone jack.
Price promotion: On Thursday, Apple shares closed up 0.5% in the regular session at $157.96, up 0.4% in after-hours trade Data from Benzinga Pro.
