On or before July 21, 2022, Nelnet discovered a vulnerability that resulted in a data event (the “Data Breach”). On or about August 17, 2022, an investigation found that from June 2022 to July 22, 2022, certain student loan account registration information was available to view by an unknown party.
On or about August 26, 2022, Nelnet began notifying consumers of the data breach. Information collected includes names, home addresses, email addresses, phone numbers, and social security numbers.
