Image recognition soccer startup started crowdfunding
A startup led by a respected inventor and ex-sportsman asks for support from football fans to continue their journey and bring innovation to football. They complete the world’s first fully automated goal-line and offside detection system so everyone can enjoy fairer games. In return, Mr. Maruzsi is inviting three lucky donors to watch this autumn’s Real Madrid CF v FC Barcelona game with him from VIP premium seats.
Goal line and offside detection system
Football is one of the most beautiful sports in the world, but the decisions of the referees often upset the mood and take the fun out of the game. The FIFA leadership seems open to technical innovations, but it is still in its infancy.
The VAR system currently in use is slow and time consuming, with television camera footage being analyzed by experts on a replay-by-replay basis with varying degrees of success.
The inventor of the Maruzsi system was looking for a way to instantly give a 100% accurate assessment and indication when the ball is out of play and when assessing offside situations.

The Maruzsi system is based on two main elements. It processes images from cameras with detailed resolution on high-performance computers and sends them to the assistant’s stick. The racket vibrates, beeps and emits a light signal as soon as the ball leaves the field. So the assistant’s job is simple, when he gets a signal, he raises his hand, if the stick doesn’t give a signal, the ball has not yet completely left the field. Whether the ball has left the field of play can also be seen on the goal line (green), the base line (red) or the side line (flashing red) using the light bar signal.
Offside situations can also be assessed well from this perspective. If the striker with the ball is clearly offside at the moment of the kick-off, the assistant raises the racquet as before. If the striker is clearly not offside, there is…
