The Palla Capital model
There are several components that drive Palla Capital. “We are not a fund. We are a holding company. We are focused on three investment themes: technology, fintech and e-commerce,” said Palla.
He explains, “The holding structure provides a direct investment opportunity for accredited investors, HNWIs (high net worth individuals) and family offices.” He added that there may be less risk associated with a holding company. “You risk less in a holding company,” says Palla. He further explained, “You pay no management fee and bear no interest when you make a direct investment in a holding company like Palla Capital.” The result is that returns can be larger and more efficient.
Another core of the Palla model is the technology. “In 10 to 20 years there will be more technology, not less. There will be more artificial intelligence (AI), more machine learning (ML) and more data science. We look at companies that are focused on technology… That’s the foundation of any acquisition and development… You need people to lead that. We believe in leaders. We are looking for executives. These are the two main factors we consider when considering an acquisition,” explained Palla.
