Prius Recall No Problem for MotorWeek; Car Wins Best of Year Award
February 12, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ The timing could be better for MotorWeek, but nevertheless, the long-running TV show has awarded the recently recalled Toyota Prius the Best of the Year for 2010, one of the industry’s top honors.
In a statement, the show’s host and executive producer John Davis wrote, “If you can only buy one car for your family, the 2010 Prius is the one.
“The Prius is a no-compromise vehicle that offers impressive efficiency, cutting edge technology, smart packaging and truly iconic styling.”
Davis followed up with the Washington Post on the MotorWeek press statement, acknowledging the odd timing. “It’s obviously not the best timing you can imagine,” he said. “We’re still very high on the car. We think it’s a superb automobile.”
