Global Unemployment Reached Record High in 2009
January 27, 2010 /EIN PRESSWIRE/ According to the International Labor Organization, global unemployment reached an all-time high in 2009.
The ILO report states that more than 210 million eligible workers were unemployed in 2009. That number is 34 million larger than in 2007.
Additionally, 2009 saw a spike in the number of youth that were unemployed around the world. For 2010, the ILO reports things won’t get much better – if better at all – as it estimates 3 million more people in the EU alone will find themselves out of work.
