Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) recently received new distribution capability (NDC) level-4 certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA). PIA has received the highest degree of certification.
According to a press release issued by PIA this Monday, the airline has recently launched a Digital Transformation Program, which focuses on modernising its business operations, resource competence, technology upgrade, and collaborative partnerships in accordance with new industry principles and requirements.
Using distribution channels, the certification will allow the airline to better interact, communicate, and share valuable material with partner companies. The certification will not only help PIA elevate its distribution standard to the next level, but will also allow improved service for passengers, travel agents, and industry partners while also driving PIA’s digital transformation, according to the press release.
Air Marshal Arshad Malik, CEO PIA, praised the airline’s Information Technology (IT) and Commercial divisions, and commended HITIT Computer Systems, the airline’s passenger services system (PSS) supplier, for their assistance.
He went on to say that this accomplishment demonstrated PIA’s dedication to become the airline of choice for travel agencies, distribution partners, and passengers.
