Morocco and Senegal Enhance Their Cooperation

HM King Mohammed VI arrived, on Wednesday in Dakar for a working and friendship visit to Senegal, the first leg of an African tour that will take the sovereign to Guinea-Bissau, Côte d’Ivoire, and Gabon.

At his arrival  at the airport the King  who is accompanied during this visit by an important delegation, was warmly received by the Senegalese President Macky Sall.

On Thursday,  HM King Mohammed VI held at the presidential palace in Dakar, private talks with Senegalese president Macky Sall. The two African leaders then witnessed the signing of of thirteen bilateral agreements in different fields of cooperation.  

These agreements are in line with the royal integrated approach towards Africa, which puts the human element at the heart of the development process and its objectives. 

The thirteen agreements are:

1/ A memorandum of understanding to foster economic partnership and help with the emergence of regional economic actors.

 2/ An agreement on customs mutual administrative assistance.

 3/An agreement to construct a small-scale fishing unloading site in Soumbedioune in Dakar.

 4/ An agreement on territorial administration cooperation.

5/ A memorandum of understanding on handicraft and social and solidarity-based economy.

6/ An industrial cooperation draft agreement.

7/  A cooperation framework agreement on logistics.

8/  A cooperation draft agreement on the milk, equine, animal health and veterinary public health sectors.

9/  A 2015-2018 tourism implementation program.

10/ A headquarters agreement between the Mohammed VI Foundation for Sustainable Development and the Senegalese government.

11/ A cooperation framework agreement on vocational training.

12/A cooperation agreement on purification between the national office for electricity and drinking water (ONEE) and Senegal’s national office for purification (ONAS).

13/A cooperation agreement on water between the national office for electricity and drinking water (ONEE) and Senegal’s national company for waters (SONES).
