Micro Jobs Website Tenrr Announces New Ownership, New Promotions

/EINPresswire.com/ With new ownership, Tenrr.com, an already sizable player in the low cost services or micro jobs marketplace, is poised to increase its market share. Tenrr members, already enjoying commission-free transactions on the site, can expect big things with new contests launching.

Tenrr.com, a website focused on buying and selling services that range from $1 to $10, is announcing a change of ownership. With 15 different categories, sellers post what they’re willing to do for up to $10 while buyers search for bargains. These micro job websites have become big business and have allowed many sellers to either quit their day jobs or supplement their incomes.

Tenrr allows sellers to keep all their revenues as no commission is paid to the website and that’s where new ownership sees their opportunity in this growing market. Tenrr’s new administrator, Jed Lampi, is “very excited about his company’s acquisition” of the micro job site, which entered the market in May 2011 with a clear target of out-Fiverring Fiverr.com, the most notable website in the niche at present.

Tenrr’s mission from the beginning has been to do what Fiverr was doing but without the fees. This is something Lampi’s team obviously intends to continue pressing as they assume control. “Our value proposition is clear: Tenrr is the free Fiverr substitute and offers more flexibility to sellers with jobs between $1 and $10.”

Going up against the well-established Fiverr is something Lampi is optimistic about. “I feel strongly that Tenrr can be the free eBay of the services world.” He points to the lack of commission and fees as being where Tenrr is vastly superior to the competition across the market. Sellers have the opportunity to make more money for every job completed than they would on nearly every other competing site.

Also unusual in the micro job market, Tenrr allows members to share their contact information even before a deal is consummated. This free exchange of details is a hallmark of the company’s open objectives. “We’re putting buyers and sellers of services together,” said Lampi of the freedoms Tenrr encourages. “It’s a beautiful thing.”

The change of ownership is bringing with it new incentives for people to utilize Tenrr. Starting Monday, October 15, 2012, Tenrr’s first weekly contest commenced. They’ll be awarding one $100 Amazon gift card randomly to a lucky seller who posts a new job on Tenrr during the week. Giveaways like this one will continue on the site for at least several weeks but the potential is there for a long run if there’s sufficient positive response from membership.

Tenrr.com currently holds an Alexa rank of 118,786, and is gaining new members each day. “The site is growing every day,” said Lampi, “and growth is still our number one goal. With our promotions, we’re looking to grow the number of sellers and quality jobs on the site.”
