Kannon’s Clothing, established in 1916 in Wendell, is bringing their extensive menswear store to Raleigh’s Cameron Village. The personal care, knowledgeable customer assistance and expertise in fit and style will remain at the forefront of service at Kannon’s Clothing. The new location, at 435 Daniels Street in the center of Cameron Village, offers excellent visibility and accessibility and was selected because it met the necessary criteria for growing the business. Kannon’s Clothing in Wendell will continue to be home to all ladies’ clothing and accessories and Kannon’s Clothing will continue their nearly 100 years of serving the community from Wendell.
George Knuckley, one of four siblings sharing the third generation ownership and management of Kannon’s, will lead the Raleigh operation. The family has shared an interest in expanding the business and identified menswear as the greatest opportunity for potential growth. “Cameron Village is an excellent match for Kannon’s,” said Knuckley, “the atmosphere is much the same—many of the merchants in the Village are independent, single owners and family concerns, all with a great connection to the community. Additionally, the Cameron Village location is centrally located and convenient to a larger population, but with the same environment. Our current customers will experience the same ambiance they’ve know for generations in Wendell and our new customers will enjoy the very personal service Kannon’s is known for.”
