John McCain – Barack Obama Health Plan Not Effective

According to an assessment report from the health care economists, both John McCain’s and Barack Obama’s health plans are not effective. According to them, ranks of those who are not insured will definitely not reduce following John McCain’s proposed health plan and Obama’s plan of helping many more people buy health insurance plans is not going to work following a steep rise in health care costs.

You can see the fundamental disagreements clearly on the means to get more people accessibility to health care coverage according to the critiques published on Tuesday in the journal Health Affairs. Economists also issued a warning on things that could go wrong with these plans.

Republican McCain’s plan willtreat health insurance as taxable wages offering income tax breaks linked to health insurance at work places. McCain has thus put forth a drastic reshaping of the means of obtaining health insurance.

People are offered a tax credit of $2500 and families are offered $5000 for buying health insurance from employers. People are also encouraged to purchase insurance from licensed insurers in the individual market. McCain justifies that with the increase in competition, there is bound to be a reduction in costs and improvement in quality.

Obama’s plan is to get the government to subsidize cost of health coverage and make it affordable for people. Government will effectively negotiate with the private insurers on prices and benefits. With this plan, anyone can now obtain affordable insurance irrespective of whether they suffered previously from heart disease or even cancer.

According to analysts, both these schemes are not practical and will eventually lead to confusion.
