Eco-friendly inkjet papers were announced by Mitsubishi Imagine (MPM), Inc. These papers are certified by the responsible forest management global standard setter FSC or the Forest Stewardship Council.
A variety of these papers are sold under the brand name Diamond Jet. Mitsubishi Paper Mills, the parent company of Mitsubishi Imaging sources these papers. MPM or the Mitsubishi Paper Mills is recognized by the FSC as sustainable forest management’s fore runner.
According to Mitsubishi Imaging’s Digital Imaging marketing director, Steven Vallario, a lot of customers want sustainability to be linked to their purchases and papers that do not harm the environment in any way are in demand by them. He added that the fact that our papers are certified by the FSC shows they meet the highest environmental and social standards. He also said that by being certified, Mitsubishi is making its corporate philosophy of contributing towards global environment and an enriched society very clear.
The path of the wood managed responsibly from the forest lands to the customers is guaranteed with the chain of custody certification issued by the Rainforest Alliance to Mitsubishi Paper Mills.
Forty percent of the commercially traded timber is used for manufacturing paper around the world, says FSC. The following years are likely to see at least a fifty percent increase in the consumption of paper. FSC went on to say that the United States produces about 90 million tons of paper being one of the largest paper products markets in the world. Mitsubishi Imaging is the sole distributor for Diamond Jet inkjet Media in America.
