Grant Cardone says Apple, Google, and even Facebook have debt even though they have the largest cash reserves in the world. They could pay cash for everything. So why do they have debt?
He explains it by giving Apple’s example. Suppose Apple wants to make a $90 billion purchase. They have cash for that and another 50%. However, if they pay for the purchase in cash, it won’t be tax-deductible. So they keep the cash with them and borrow 90 billion. They will have to pay just 0.5% This way, they have the best of both worlds — cash and debt. Using debt, they keep their profits within their company and secure tax savings.
