Studying wants to understand the possible etiologies of systemic symptoms self-reported by some breast implant patients known as breast implant disease
GARDEN GROVE, CA., November 9, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Aesthetic Society and the Aesthetic Surgery Education and Research Foundation (ASERF) today released the results of a study dedicated to exploring the systemic symptoms self-reported by some breast implant patients, known as Breast Implant Illness . With 2,600 board-certified plastic surgeons, the Aesthetic Society is recognized as the world’s leading membership organization dedicated solely to aesthetic plastic surgery and cosmetic medicine of the face and body. ASERF is the philanthropic research and education arm of The Aesthetic Society. This study was funded entirely by a Education and Research Foundation for Aesthetic Surgery (ASERF) Scholarship awarded in 2019. There was no involvement of external sponsors in the research, data collection, data interpretation, data analysis, or writing of the manuscript. The full study will be published in a peer-reviewed medical journal Journal of Aesthetic Surgery.
