As part of this new program, MetLife will help provide New Hampshire workers with the opportunity to take paid time off work to care for their families or themselves
MetLife was selected as the carrier to fully insure and administer New Hampshire’s new Granite State Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML) plan. This innovative program provides affordable and voluntary paid vacation insurance for employees in New Hampshire who may need to take paid time off work to care for their families or themselves.
The program provides up to 60% Wage Replacement Insurance benefits for the same leave reasons supported by the Federal Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and is available to all individuals working in New Hampshire, regardless of whether their employer chooses to participate decides or not program. NH employers can adjust the terms of the insurance policies they purchase, e.g. B. the length of the waiting period, and extend the PFML insurance coverage from 6 to 12 weeks. NH companies that enroll in this new program through MetLife and pay all or part of the NH PFML insurance premium for their employees are eligible to claim a Business Tax (BET) credit equal to 50% of their premium cost in the first place 6 weeks of coverage they buy.
