The annual Dollars for Doers grant program has a total impact of $1 million
Navy Federal Credit Union recognizes the volunteer service of its employees by making a record number of grants to nonprofit organizations as part of its year “dollars for doers” Program. To celebrate the 15thth To mark the anniversary, the credit union awarded 150 employees with grants of $1,000 each to donate to the nonprofit organization where they spend their time. Typically, the program recognizes 100 employees.

Navy Federal is also celebrating a major milestone in the Dollars for Doers program by reaching $1 million since its inception. This is also the first year the program has recognized virtual volunteering.
“No matter when, where, or how our team members volunteer, their service matters and creates meaningful change,” said Brandi Gomez, Navy Federal corporate social responsibility program manager. “You are a force for good that deserves to be celebrated for your consistent concern for our communities, and our Dollars for Doers program allows us to do just that.”
The recipient’s non-profit organizations are spread across the country. Contact Center Operations Manager Catherine Crenshaw spends her time with Literacy Volunteers in Winchester, Virginia. A nonprofit organization with a mission to ensure that every member of the community has the literacy resources they need to fully participate in society.
“I’m grateful that Navy Federal allows us to choose where we donate our time and give back to a cause we care about,” said Crenshaw. “This grant will help Literacy Volunteers establish another 13 small free libraries in our community that will make such a big impact.”
