LOS ANGELES, October 31, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — Kenny Pfitzer designsone of the best-known automotive designers and custom builders in the industry is heading to the 2022 SEMA Show in Las Vegas with two builds that are the most talked about at the show. The concepts are a collaboration with two leading clothing brands that embody the style and class of the Southern California lifestyle – FB county and The original cascade. Founded in 1991, FB COUNTY is the designer and manufacturer of innovative streetwear whose clothing appears in several Hollywood films incl The Fast and the Furious and Direct from Compton. Original Cascade is the rebirth of the legendary 1933 clothing company and now offers several quality men’s and women’s flannel shirts, all inspired by his passion for cars. Both brands collaborated with KPD to develop these bold designs that blend modern shapes with the timeless style of the Volkswagen bus.
Construction began in late August with two early 1960s VW buses, a 1963 Single Cab and a 1961 15-Window Deluxe. Both were completely disassembled and 3D scanned to design the various body panels including front and rear fender flares, roof spoiler, front splitter, rear roll-over panel and rocker panels. Using CAD software, all of the body panels were designed and fabricated from a special composite material, giving Kenny the ability to create body panels that perfectly matched the classic bus body shape.
All interior parts were removed and fully custom interiors were designed and built from scratch. Both buses received all-new interiors, upholstery, and CNC-machined components for the instrument clusters, pedals, switches, and other key interior elements. The buses also received completely new air suspension kits, brakes, lighting, electrical components and more.
