BEIJING, October 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China drew a blueprint for China for the next five years and beyond. What does it mean to the world? What can the world expect China in the coming years? And what will Chinese modernization bring to the global community? CGTN organized a special panel discussion titled “Now and Beyond” moderated by the CGTN moderator Liu Xinto discuss the way forward China and the world with decision makers and global thinkers.
“The true China message was a message of multilateralism,” says Professor Jeffrey Sachsthe director of the Center for Sustainable Development University of Columbia, while commenting on the US media’s biased coverage of the National Congress. “China explicitly wants a multilateral world under the UN Charter. It does not strive for domination; it does not seek conflict in any way. And the message is absolutely clear… What we need is dialogue, we need better understanding,” emphasizes Professor Sachs.
“That is President Xi’s key message to the world China wants to work for a peaceful world and strives for peaceful coexistence”, Xi TaoProfessor and Dean of the School of International Relations and Diplomacy at Beijing Foreign Studies University, echoes Professor Sachs’ comment, adding: “China does not impose or export its own values and institutions to other countries, nor does it China would love to see other countries to tell us what you should do. China has a huge population. China is very different from many other countries. and China will achieve national rejuvenation through a Chinese road to modernization,” explains Xie.
