FARO, Portugal, October 29, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The Metaverse – As part of its efforts to shed light on Afro heritage through NFTs, Emsany announced the launch of his Dahomey Initiative. It consists of an art competition, a Metaverse exhibition and a series of lectures on the warriors of Dahomey, the emblematic ladies who conquered the territory where benin is.
Since the founding of his NFT Marketplacethe first of its kind to address the needs of Afro creators, Emsany has recognized the need to leverage the use of NFTs to commemorate African heritage.
Emsany’s Dahomey Initiative began by organizing an NFT art competition that encourages the community of African artists to create authentic artworks inspired by the legendary stories of the Dahomey warriors so that all can continue to refer to them as a symbol of femininity and remember bravery.
The competition is open to the public and aims to explore the artists’ creativity in relation to the proposed theme. A jury of art connoisseurs from various art fields, e.g crypto-Artists and art professionals will judge the entries that are part of Emsany’s Dahomey NFT Art Contest.
Immediately following the competition, Emsany’s Dahomey Metaverse Gallery will showcase the top fifty NFTs minted during the art competition and highlight how the Metaverse enables art galleries to be organized in a unique setup and with myriad possibilities. This event takes place exclusively on the Metaverse in December.
Parallel to the competition Emsany will deliver a series of lectures on the impact of warrior women on the development and empowerment of African women, with distinguished guests who will share their success stories with the community.
“Through this initiative, Emsany seeks to increase recognition of African culture and history and the role of women in shaping the past, present and future of African societies,” said Anas El ArrasFounder and CEO of Emsany.
