NEW ORLEANS, October 27, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — The pioneering non-profit organization Women’s Foundation of the South (WFS), founded by womxn of color to work for women and girls of color, has proven its effectiveness and impact in its successful inaugural year — and showed how bad the need is in the 13 southern states of this country. To celebrate the robust start of its second fiscal year and raise money for its much-needed programs and initiatives, WFS is hosting its first-ever fundraising event — a multidimensional evening sure to resonate with its constituents and the wider community at large.
Crescendeaux: A Fashion Fusion Experience, honoring designers of color in the South, takes place on Thursday, November 3rdin the venerable generation hall in New Orleans. DJ Stormy, hailed by Essence Magazine as one of the top female DJs, will be driving the music, and celebrity presenters and performers are in attendance Marlo Hampton and Teryl Lynn Foxx. Bevy Smith, a true fashion queen, is honored and delighted to be Honorary Chair of the Host Committee and will host a fireside chat with the designers featured at Crescendeaux. The event begins with a VIP reception at 6 p.m. ET, and all ticket holders are also invited to the reception. doors open at 7 p.m. ET for a runway show featuring a range of designers from the South of color, including Korto Momulo from Arkansas, Kristine Pichon from New Orleans, Sophia Aomo Omoro from New Orleans, Jolanda White from Georgia, Celeste Madhere from TexasFrenshel Cooper from Georgiaand boutiques West London and Beaux Curvian Gurlz Collection, both by New Orleans.
