donald trump was reportedly dropped off at his Florida home by attorneys for an author who accused him of raping her in 2019.
What happened: The sworn questioning of the former president was confirmed by Robert Kaplanthe attorney for E. Jean Carroll, reported The Washington Post.
There were reportedly no comments from Trump’s attorney Alina Habba but his attorneys have previously denied Trump had any encounters with Carroll.
The former US leader was dropped off at his home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida, a person familiar with the incident told the Post.
Why it matters: Last week it was reported that Trump might no longer delay the dismissal in the defamation case Carroll filed in 2019 while he was still in power.
Trump’s attorneys had argued that he was shielded from the lawsuit under a federal law that grants government employees immunity from lawsuits for defamation.
Kaplan said in August that Carroll would sue Trump for sexual assault and emotional distress under a New York law scheduled to take effect Nov. 24, according to a previous report.
Trump said in a recent post on Truth Social that Carroll is “not telling the truth.” He said she was a woman “I had nothing to do with.”
