Trump is criticized for “blatant anti-Semitism” as he asks the US – Press Release

donald trump said he could “easily” become prime minister Israel in a post targeting American Jews on Sunday.

What happened: The former president made an appearance in his post with the US Jewish community, which drew criticism from several quarters.

“No president has done more for Israel than I have,” Trump wrote.

The former president said he has the “highest approval rating in the world” and could “be PM easily!” in Israel: “US Jews need to pull themselves together and appreciate what they have in Israel.”

Trump took a “strategic” distance from the rap star KanyeWest, who has generated controversy for his anti-Semitic remarks, reported Rolling Stone.

He told several people that West was acting too “crazy” and needed professional “help,” people familiar with the matter told Rolling Stone.

Why it matters: Trump’s comments on Truth Social drew criticism on social media over the weekend.

That Jewish Democratic Council of America condemned Trump’s comments on Sunday as “blatant anti-Semitism”.

Nobel laureate Paul Krugman said that Trump’s outburst is an example of why American Jews are “relatively liberal.”

Trump made no mention of West on his Truth Social account, in his office’s statements, or in his public appearances, Rolling Stone noted.
