
Eden Pharma Limitedfounded in 2017, announced on Friday that it recently acquired a 5,000-acre property in Uganda.
The land was acquired through a joint venture and is used for cannabis research and development.
“This project is fully licensed by the Ugandan government and is believed to be the largest cannabis facility in the world. The site is expected to yield important cannabis and industry research, as well as vast amounts of CBD raw materials and cannabis for use in markets around the world.” specified Eden in a press release.
“The joint venture in Uganda has opened up Eden Pharma into significant development opportunities that will cement the years of hard work put in by the Eden team. Eden Pharma will be an exceptional, vertically integrated company, delivering for its customers and stakeholders alike.”
Eden Uganda Project
The company says it aims to employ 100% Ugandan workers within 3 years of completing the Eden Uganda project.
According to Eden, the project involves “building a community for local people,” creating jobs, boosting the local economy and improving the quality of life.
“This community will include infrastructure such as research labs, pharmacies and an airport.”
This company is also forecast to increase Uganda’s GDP by 3%. A documentary about the country in Uganda called The Garden of Africa is currently in production.
