renovationthe first NFT marketplace for architects and designers, has entered into a partnership with Aftermath Island Metaverse to start the first-ever Metaverse Buildathon.
As part of the ‘Next Best Metaverse Build‘ competition, students, professionals and Metaverse enthusiasts have the opportunity to win a range of prizes in different categories, including $50,000 in virtual lots, safes (in-game tokens), gift cards and the opportunity to sell their creations as NFTs sell in association with Aftermath Islands and more.
The competition challenges entrants to design either 3D buildings, wearables, or furniture with categories including Homes, Retail Space, Clubhouses/Venues, Interiors, and Avatar Wearables.
Aftermath Islands is one of the first Metaverse platforms with GPU cloud serving and pixel streaming technology, giving users highly realistic graphics and experiences on almost any device with no downloads. Buildathon participants will be able to build and design in a program of their choice and export to a format compatible with Unreal Engine 5 – encouraging developers to create designs that resemble high-quality games.
The competition can be submitted until January 9, 2023 at 17:00 GMT, after which the winners will be selected by the jury.
All participants need to do is register at topmetaversebuild.com and submit their work to the Renovi marketplace along with all supporting documents on Discord.
Judges will include Rob Cole, Aftermath Islands Head of Technology, Gaming and Production, and David Lucatch, Managing Director; Renovi co-founder Adonis Zachariades; Hetal Patel of Metaverse Group and Cherie Bowker, President of VRchitect, with more to be announced.
The first-ever Next Top Metaverse Buildathon took place earlier this year and saw 250 developers submit more than 160 entries, with $200,000 in prizes awarded to date.
