Elon Musk, who announced this at the end of September Tesla, Inc TSLA Cybertruck can act as a boat for a short timetook to Twitter to explain the mechanism behind the advanced utility.

Passing by the handle @RGVaerialphotos, a Twitter user mused on the Cybertruck’s likely speed when navigating the water, estimating it could be anywhere from three to 19 knots. He tagged Musk and asked him for insight into the speed.

In response, the Tesla CEO said that a hitch-mounted electric propeller would be needed to go faster than a few knots. “It could [be] to come up with a wheel hub design that can generate meaningful thrust,” he added.

Late last month, Musk suggested that the Cybertruck will be waterproof enough to briefly serve as a boat, allowing it to cross rivers, lakes, and even seas that aren’t choppy.

The Cybertruck, Tesla’s electric pickup truck, has been in the works since 2019, and in the latest update, Musk suggested it could launch commercially in 2023.

Tesla shares closed Friday’s session down 6.23% at $223.07 Benzinga Pro data.
