Former President donald trump once asked his aides whether Gislaine Maxwellthe girlfriend of the sex offender Jeffrey EpsteinShe had given his name after her arrest.
according to a Book by the New York Times reporter Maggie Habermanin July 2020, during a meeting in the Oval Office, Trump asked his advisers… “You see this article in the [New York] Post today I was mentioned in?”
“He kept silent. ‘She said something about me?'” Haberman wrote in the book, describing Trump’s reaction to the news article.
In the book, “Confidence Man: The Making of Donald Trump and the Breaking of America” Haberman mentioned Trump was concerned about an article published in Page six around Maxwell’s arrest for sex trafficking.
The article quoted an Epstein associate Stephen Hoffenberg said: “Ghislaine thought she was untouchable – that she would be protected by the intelligence agencies that she and Jeffrey helped with information: the Israeli intelligence agencies and Les Wexner, who gave millions to Israel; by Prince Andrew, President Clinton and even by President Trump, who is known to have been an acquaintance of her and Epstein.

Trump was concerned that his name was mentioned in the article, and he wondered if Maxwell would use his name at her trial.
In an interview in 2002, Trump said said New York Magazine that he has known Epstein for 15 years and described him as a “great guy.”
“It’s a lot of fun to be with him. It’s even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are younger. No doubt — Jeffrey is enjoying his social life,” the magazine quoted Trump as saying.
In 2019, a former Trump associate, George Houraney, said The New York Times that Trump once partied with Epstein and around two dozen women at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort.
