Appointment of Amy Welsh to Chief Commercial Officer prioritizes commercial growth

PRINCETON, NJ, October 7, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Agile Therapeutics, Inc. AGRXa women’s health company, announced today that it has reorganized and streamlined its leadership team to align with its business plan to advance Twirla® (levonorgestrel and ethinylestradiol) growth in the transdermal system. As part of the changes, the Company announced the appointment of Amy Welsh as Chief Commercial Officer, effective November 1, 2022. In addition, James P. Tursi, MD, has informed the Company that effective October 7, he will be stepping down from the Company’s Board of Directors. 2022.

In addition to her current responsibilities as head of Twirla’s marketing team, Ms. Welsh will assume responsibility for all of the company’s commercial functions as Chief Commercial Officer. Ms. Welsh joined the Company in May 2020 as Vice President, Marketing. Prior to joining Agile, Ms. Welsh was Vice President of Marketing at Antares Pharma, Inc. and held various positions of increasing responsibility at AstraZeneca.
