A location of a leading fast-food restaurant company has started accepting Bitcoin for in-store payments. Here are the details.
What happened: A McDonalds Inc MCD location in town Lugano, Switzerland now accepted Bitcoin BTC/USD as a payment option. The message comes as the The crypto community has recovered for years for the restaurant company, cryptocurrencies such as e.g Dogecoins DOGE/USD at all locations.
A video divided by Bitcoin Magazine has more than 430,000 views on Twitter and shows a customer paying with Bitcoin in a place in Lugano, which has around 60,000 inhabitants.

The video shows a customer ordering from a kiosk, receiving a printed receipt and paying by scanning a QR code generated by the cashier. The receipt shows GoCryptothe name of a world leading infrastructure company for crypto and card payments.

Why it matters: As highlighted by CoinTelegraph, the city of Lugano is one of the most cryptocurrency-friendly in the region. The city signed a contract with tether USDT/USD Launch multiple initiatives to fund crypto startups and crypto adoption by local businesses.
Lugano residents can also pay their taxes with cryptocurrency, with payments for parking tickets and public services coming soon with cryptocurrency. More than 200 different businesses in the region are expected to allow cryptocurrency payments.
