
US stocks closed higher on Tuesday, with the Nasdaq Composite gaining about 360 points higher Amazon.com, Inc. AMZN and apple inc AAPL shares.
Let’s take a look at the major economic events scheduled for today.
- The MBA index of mortgage Application activity for the last week is scheduled to be published at 7:00 am ET.
- The September ADP National Employment Report is released at 8:15 am ET. Private payrolls are expected to hit 200k in September compared to growth of 308k in August.
- Data on international trade in goods and services for August is released at 8:30 am ET. Analysts expect a deficit of $68.0 billion for total trade in goods and services in August, compared to a gap of $70.6 billion in July.
- The US Services PMI for September is scheduled to be released at 9:45 am ET. Flash services PMI for September rose sharply to 49.2 from 43.7 in August. Analysts expect no change for the final reading.
- The ISM Services Index for September is released at 10:00 am ET. The ISM services index is expected to decline slightly to 56 in September from the previous reading of 56.9.
- The Energy Information Administration’s weekly report on US petroleum stocks is released at 10:30 am ET.
- Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta President Raphael Bostic will speak at 4:00 p.m. ET.
